Lolsnake
Leaning into several layers of dance music—from metallic techno, angelic trance, and squishy acid to cosmic bleep—Lolsnake (she/they) fuses a maelstrom of textures into her sets, stirring up heady atmospheres and hypnotic moods on the dance floor. With a fluid, genre-defiant approach, she’s carved out a distinct sonic signature: playful, cerebral, emotionally deep, and magnetically unpredictable.
A regular at Berghain, Lolsnake is also the founder of Weeeirdos, a queer platform that champions subversive joy, curiosity, and community. As a DJ and visual artist, her multifaceted background fuels a perspective that’s both boundary-pushing and deeply rooted in connection.
In the last years,In 2025, Lolsnake took her sound global, performing at Bassiani (Tbilisi), Basement NYC, WHOLE Festival, and returned to Berghain for several celebrated sets that reflected her evolving sonic palette. Her genre-crossing energy has also been showcased in guest mixes for Mixmag, DJ Mag, The Lot Radio, and Crack Magazine.
Weeeirdos, which began in 2017 as a hybrid event combining live music, performance and visual art, has since become one of Berlin’s most vital queer dance platforms. In 2023, it moved from OHM to a residency at Säule (Berghain). That same year, Boiler Room invited Lolsnake to curate a Weeeirdos own boiler room live stream from Berlin’s dungeon-like Nåpoleon Komplex. Lolsnake has since been asked to curate key events on the Berghain Mainfloor, The Ground (Space) Miami, Radion Amsterdam, and more.
Born in California to Iraqi parents and raised in Oakland, Lolsnake’s musical roots trace back to classical training in clarinet, saxophone, and bass clarinet. Her teenage years were shaped by a love of Depeche Mode, Underworld, The Knife, and the Arabic tapes of Oum Kalthoum and Fairouz. A move to Manchester in 2010 to study neuroscience immersed her in the UK’s DIY rave scene. Berlin followed in 2014, where she found a deep sense of belonging in the city’s queer nightlife.
After a decade in Berlin Lolsnake’s sets have matured into shimmering constellations of rhythm—balancing tension and release, chaos and clarity, with mischievous curveballs at just the right moment. With plans to launch the Weeeirdos label and take the project on a global tour, she remains a powerful force in contemporary club culture: driven by feeling, rooted in community, and guided by no rules but her own.
